TURKISH LANGUAGE TEACHING APPLICATION AND RESEARCH CENTER

The Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center was established to organize courses for teaching Turkish to foreign students who come to study at Kütahya Dumlupınar University and to conduct exams to assess their Turkish language proficiency following the courses was established by the letter of the Presidency of the Higher Education Council dated 24/04/2013 and numbered 101.04-2661 and the announcement in the Official Gazette dated 05/08/2013 and numbered 28729.

The Institution carries out its activities with the academic support of the Turkish Language and Literature Department, the Turkish Language Education Department, and the Turkish Language Department, which are affiliated with the Rectorate of our university.

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of foreign students coming to our country to study. This increase is also reflected in our university. A significant number of incoming foreign students do not have a sufficient command of Turkish to receive education. In the institution organizes courses to teach these students enough Turkish to receive education and training. Additionally, exams are administered to assess the proficiency levels of foreign students who already know Turkish, and certificates confirming their Turkish language proficiency are issued. Thus, the establishment of the center contributes to educational activities not just in a few departments, but in almost every department of our university.

The Institution also plans to encourage students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs related to the Turkish language at our university to conduct research in the field of teaching Turkish to foreigners and to support the research of relevant students. Organizing courses on teaching Turkish to foreigners for students in these departments and awarding certificates to successful participants are also among the institution’s activities.

In addition, Turkish courses are organized at the center for foreign students who come to our country to study at different educational institutions, provided that the necessary agreements are in place.

Various activities are carried out at the center for those who use Turkish as their native language.

We occasionally receive requests from official and private institutions in Kütahya to organize diction courses for their employees, and these requests are evaluated at our institution.

In the coming periods, it is planned to organize courses in languages other than Turkish at various levels and for various purposes, both for academic staff and students.

The Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center is a unit that helps foreign students from different countries learn Turkish and adapt to university life in the best possible way, organizes various courses related to Turkish, and contributes to cooperation between the university and institutions and organizations in the city regarding Turkish language.

The Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center of Kütahya Dumlupınar University operates in the Faculty of Theology building and has sufficient classrooms and rooms for its activities.
